Frannie the Peanut

We aren't imagining things when we say Frannie looks tiny. Our little lady had her 9-month check-up today. She is 28 3/8" tall (75th percentile) and 17 pounds, 10 ounces (25th percentile!).

For reference, I (Ali) was 28 1/4" tall and almost 20 pounds at the same age. Chris was 29 3/4" tall and almost 21 pounds.

Henry was 28 1/2" and 20.5 pounds at 9 months. (In spite of the prematurity!)

And our dear Milly Mills didn't go to the doctor at 9 months, but he was almost 28" tall and 22.5 pounds at 8 months.

Don't read too much into the height stuff, though -- wiggly babies are pretty hard to measure accurately!

Miller had a check-up recently, too. Just one pound separates him from his big brother now. For those of you particularly interested in this stuff (Dad), here's how the three Ohlhoff males compared at 2.5:

Chris at 2.5 = 29.0 lbs, 37.5 inches

Miller at 2.5 = 33.75 lbs, 37.25 inches

Henry at 2.5 = 29.25 lbs, 36.75 inches

Henry's New Bike

Henry Jay has had a wonderful year. He's done great at school, he's a very good and attentive big brother, and he did so well yesterday at his gymnastics show (more on that in our next post). So, we got him a big boy bike today. His bike came with a little cup holder up front, and that gave us an idea about how to present him with his new bike.

If only the card in our camera had enough memory space to capture it all...

Needless to say he was very excited about his new bike. And what the camera didn't capture was him saying, "awesome dad! awesome!" It really was an excellent moment even if the camera failed us!

And besides, Ali was quick on the draw with a follow up video, and a snapshot, while Poppop also took some great pictures, so you get the gist. We have a very proud and excited boy on our hands. And he loves his new bike.

We took it around the block and he stopped everyone we passed to tell them he got a new bike. When we passed Angelo's house he stopped and waited for Angelo to come outside so he could tell him, "Angelo, I got a new bike! It has a water bottle and pedals."

More Birthday Fun & Happy Mothers Day!

Thanks for all the cards, notes, calls and texts. It really was a wonderful birthday despite the work travel. I was so out of steam by the end of the day I needed help blowing out my candles.
But we blew it out, so high fives for everyone.
And these 3 pictures just crack me up. What a progression. Or regression.
And what else have we been up to? Frannie's been crawling around the house.
Then there was Nana's busy visit when we hit the Children's Museum
This picture kills me. The kid in the front row is not going to enjoy this ride.
Which is okay because it seems like Miller will enjoy it enough for everyone.
And finally, happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in our lives. But most especially of all to the best Mommy I know. My wife. 3 kids attached to her out walking around town on Mother's Day, and a huge smile on her face.

Because Yesterday was Happy Birthday to Me

But I was away most of the day, so we celebrated tonight with dinner at New Rebozo. I'm a very lucky guy and Daddy.
