That's a Spicy January

Yesterday afternoon Henry walked into the kitchen and helped himself to some of Ali's leftover potato chips from her lunch that she had left out on the counter. He came walking back into the living room a moment later,

"I burned my tongue on those chips Daddy. They were too hot. I think Mommy forgot to blow on them."

These were Jalapeno-flavored potato chips, and they're pretty spicy. They have a real kick to them.

Tonight I over-Tabasco-ed my burrito and -- in between panicked gulps for air -- mentioned that it was too spicy. Henry suggested that, "the restaurant guys must have forgotten to blow on it, Daddy."

2) When we do eat, we sure like to taste it

Where Does The Time Go?

Just when you thought we were posting every couple days, wham! the holidays hit and we can't find time to update the blog, so without further ado here's the recap from Christmas, New Year's Eve, and the great blizzard of 2010.

First there was Santa's visit to Henry's school.

Then we went to the outdoor Christmas market in Chicago, brrrrr!

Then we had a wonderful Christmas morning after Santa came to visit us

Playing in the basement in our new play house and on our new train table

And we had to practice our snow-shoveling technique on Christmas in preparation for our visit to New Jersey

Because we knew Poppop would need help shoveling all that snow from the blizzard.

Which was a lot of fun for sledding.

When we weren't busy playing on Poppop's couch.

Or trying out Jessie and Jim's Wii baseball, including running the bases.

And exploring new indoor parks in New Jersey with Nana

And finally we made in back to Oak Park.
