Happy Halloween

What would a Henry Jay Halloween be without trucks, in costume form?

Followed by a trip to Daddy's office for more trick or treating and snacks

Followed by a school event

Where they even welcomed candy-loving pirates

And what would Halloween in Oak Park be without a parade?

Then it was time to head out to farm country to pick some pumpkins

We'll be back with more ACTUAL Halloween pictures later. After all, you know what they say: Ain't no Halloween like an OP Halloween!

And on the 10th Day...

And on the 10th day, of the 10th month, of the 10th year of this millennium, Henry Jay and Miller Edison gained another new cousin. Welcome to the world Peter John Kiedrowski, we can't wait to meet you!!

In the meantime Miller's been learning some new tricks:

And Henry is on his way to becoming a worker man (gracefulness and all):

And yes, the basement is looking pretty close to finished. Hooray!

Well-Mannered Cars That Talk

We were in the parking lot of a restaurant last night after picking up dinner. Ali was putting the bags of food in the car as Henry stood next to her. Meanwhile, I was putting Miller into his seat, and dropped a toy on the ground in the process. Henry heard the toy fall and walked around the car to pick it up for Miller. This was very sweet, but Ali and I were both concerned about him walking away from us in a parking lot.

Once we got in the car, Ali explained that he needs to stay close to us or hold our hands in parking lots, because there are lots of cars and they could hit him.

Henry thought about this for a second. Then he asked, "But do the cars have mouths?" He explained: "If the cars have mouths, then they would just say, 'Are you OK, little guy?' after they hit me. And then I would go back to Mommy and Daddy."

So maybe we've been watching a little too much of the Cars movie.

Now for some pictures

Happy Birthday Miller

Happy birthday to our little one-year old.

And thank you Jay and Iris for a wonderful party and thank you to the guests for all the great gifts

Miller loved his new telephone, and Henry loved unwrapping all of Miller's presents for him.
