What a Difference 6 Years Make

In honor of our 6 year anniversary...

Thank you Iris and Jay.

Thank you Mary Ann, Hank, and Pat.

Thank you Reverend Bergstrom.

Thank you Brian, Libby, Larry, Becca, Jess, Pete, the rest of wedding party, and all the other attendees, participants and guests.

Thank you to the generations who came before us and the invitees who couldn't attend.

We think you all did a great job.

We watched the video of our wedding and reception tonight after the boys went to bed and we couldn't stop laughing. We miss you and we love you.

Picnic in the Park

What better way to kick off a three day weekend than taking the boys out to Whole Foods in the stroller, grabbing some grub, and some chilled wine for the adults, and having a little picnic in the park where you spend half the time keeping the wine out of the clutches of both curious little boys, one of whom is convinced that you're drinking his juice?

Spending the other half of the picnic playing ball and trying to learn how to somersault.

Poppa and his grandsons

Grandpa Jay got to spend a lot of time with his grandsons this past visit.

See Miller, I told you a balance sheet could be hilarious!

But maybe not as crowd-pleasing as Big Little

And no, they're not twins, but we do enjoy dressing them in matching outfits if it's hot enough.

Hot Fun in the Summertime

And suddenly it's 90 degrees in Oak Park.

But before it got to be 90 degrees on Sunday, we had a very nice Saturday. We trekked down to the first farmer's market of the season with Yaya and Poppa, our stroller full of boys and our wagon full of room for the goodies we planned to purchase.

We started with some breakfast, mmmmm mangoes, and chew toys.

We walked to the farmers market, Abbey Road style

Then we took some batting practice. With our batting helmet. For protection.

And today when it got nice and hot outside, we broke out the summer toys in the yard.

The water table,

the hose,

and the pool.

Wonder Works

A couple weeks ago a Mom in town with whom Ali is friends took her daughter and Henry to Wonder Works in OP. It calls itself a museum, but really it's an indoor playground and local hangout for uninterested nannies.

Henry loved it. They have a room with a stage and costumes for dressing up. They have an arts room full of supplies for projects. There's a fake tree for climbing with slides and canopies, machinery that kids can use like a conveyor belt with baskets on it. And of course, books, toys, and trucks. Henry hasn't stopped talking about it since then, in particular about a, "yellow, blue, and red truck with handles." And today, with Yaya and Poppa as chaperones, Henry made his triumphant return.

Some things never change.

Picture of Henry two weeks ago at Wonder Works:

Picture of Henry at Wonder Works today:

The pictures came from two different sources completely independent of one another and neither had seen the other picture. Notice the same hat, just reversed. The same yellow blue and red truck with handles, he's riding it in one picture, it's just beyond his shoulder in the other picture. He's a rather consistent young boy.

Celebrating Spring, Minihoff Style

What we've been up to:

Building words, (and giving daddy a Tetris flashback in the process)

Playing with our brother

Celebrating Diversity in our community by attending the Diversity Day Parade, playing out in the yard near our new garden, plenty of time keeping our eye on the ball, and then there's the little man learning to scoot, plank, and crawl.
