A rare post from Mommy

Two recent Henry funnies I thought you fans would enjoy:

"Mommy, look! That truck is beeping up!" (instead of backing up ... hee)

"Mommy! Miller has a hole in his head!" (yes, he was poking his infant brother in the soft spot as he said this)

And in case you forgot what a sensitive soul he is: The other day on our daily afternoon walk, we came across an itty bitty baby bunny sitting in the grass. I stopped the stroller and exclaimed, "Hen, look! A baby bunny!"

Henry studied the bunny carefully. Suddenly, his eyes welled with tears. "But ... but ... where's his mommy bunny? Is she lost?"

Little Red Wagon

It was a perfect weekend for a little red wagon action. Henry wanted no part of riding in the wagon, he wanted to pull his little buddy, and Miller seemed to love the ride.

There was also some cookie baking his weekend, with a little help from Mommy's best helper.

And we were even able to make a quick visit to the park.

Road Trips and Work Sites

Two and a half weeks, two flights between Chicago and Newark, two drives between Chicago and New Jersey (1604 miles), two drives between Chicago and Minneapolis (816 miles), too many meals at Perkins (2) and way too many meals at A&W (1), winning the most prize tickets at Grandma Gen's 90th birthday party (19), and turning those tickets into the fewest prizes (0), but the end result was worth it.

Lots of time with family.

Some great meals, (and in some cases our first meals with real food).

A lot of laundry to do.

Once the lumber arrived we had to unload it

And cut it.

So how did we feel about all that work?

And pensive, what with all that time in the car.

And what did all that work produce?

A cubby hole along the stairs

A new closet instead of those little green cabinets

And another closet and walls instead of green picket fencing

Which gave us plenty to cheer about

Our Little Slugger

Despite numerous weak pitches from me, Henry Jay still found a way to put the bat on the ball for most of the pitches, including a couple I was able to field, (clumsily, but give me a break the camera was in my other hand) and a couple he popped over my head for what would likely be home runs if they happened in a league with other two-and-a-half-year-olds.

6 Months for Miller

I can't believe Miller is already 6 months old. My how time flies when you're having fun with your two boys. Miller is already eating baby food, sitting up, and he'll be inching along the floor any day now. Plus he had his 6 month check up this week and he's in the 95th percentile for weight (I'm surprised it's not higher), and the 75th percentile for height. So he's fatter than he is tall. We'll take it, he's happy, healthy, and adorable.

Most of his new skills and activities are on display in the following videos.
