Winter Wonderland

Well there's no place like Minneapolis for the holidays. Especially during a blizzard.

Somebody fell asleep after we got him into his snow suit, but before we could get him outside into the snow.

So that left the three of us to wander around in the winter wonderland on Christmas Eve. We ventured out to Starbucks by sled with Mommy and Daddy taking turns mushing.

And that's when we came across the ATV snow plow that was driven by a man nice enough to let Henry Jay take the wheel.

And finish it off with story time with Yaya's Poppa before heading off to bed.

Happy Holidays

It's been a lot of fun gearing up for the holidays. We're in Minneapolis now getting ready for Christmas with the Kiedrowskis but the last couple weeks have been a whirlwind of holiday activity.

Making Christmas cookies. Henry's favorite part was decorating the cookies with the sprinkles, charitably.

Meeting Santa. He was able to take time from his busy schedule to come see Henry and his classmates at school.

Opening presents. We opened a couple at home before coming up to Minnesota so the boys could experience a family Christmas under our Christmas tree. This is Henry after the tape he was pulling on the box in front of him finally gave way and he toppled over backwards.

Buying and decorating the Christmas tree with Uncle Pete who also provided Henry some seating.

Making a snowman.

Grabbing our seasonal pine cones after climbing up onto the dining room table in a brief unsupervised moment and removing them from their decorative bowl.

Eating the Christmas guacamole. No chips needed, a spoon or carrot sticks will be fine thank you.

Even cleaning up the Christmas toilet.

And in general just enjoying time with the family.

He's Musically Inclined

It's like the Ohlhoff family revue with Henry Jay.

Singing to Miller. Sure, maybe it's not Miller's birthday, and the timing's a little off, but you can't deny the love between these two. The look Miller gives Henry right before the first hug, priceless.

Singing Christmas carols. Thankfully Daddy was there to back him up on the bells, while Henry Jay covered the xylophone and tambourine arrangement.

Even grabbing Aunt Jan's cane to play on the saxophone. Maybe it seems more like a microphone on a stand, but his singing is definitely brass instrument. And we had the talented Uncle Hank on hand to back him up.
